Washington State’s virtual Crisis Academy
Overview
Welcome to Washington State’s virtual Crisis Academy. The Crisis Academy is provided by the Health Care Authority and includes learning opportunities that are designed to support Mobile Crisis Outreach teams and organizations, along with Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs), with standardized training that aligns with national best practices and federal guidance.
The following eLearning opportunities currently available are:
Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) — These modules are developmentally tailored; all Mobile Crisis Outreach responders are required to complete the training respective to the population they serve – 1) adult crisis responders and/or 2) youth and families. We recommend beginning a module when there is adequate coverage, and when you can expect to remain uninterrupted; however, do note that a module does not need to be completed in a single sitting. You may pause and return to the training as needed. Expect 5 hours to complete the Adult Crisis Responder program and 4 hours to complete the Youth program.
Trauma Informed Approach (TIA) for Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs) –– This eLearning program is specifically designed for Washington State certified Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs)*; all DCRs are required to complete this online training. It is recommended to begin the content when there is adequate coverage, and when you can expect to remain uninterrupted; however, do note that the program does not need to be completed in a single sitting. It will save where you left off so that you may pause and return to the training as needed. Expect 3 hours to complete.
